Experience
in Orkho-Bom canyon
This trip is designed for those who enjoy
adventure - rafting down the canyon is an unforgettable experience.
This river is considered as one of the most picturesque not only
in East Sayans but in the whole Russia. It flows through alpine
meadows, then along mountain ridges of East Sayan and finally
cuts the range forming famous Orkho-Bom canyon. This river is
popular white water destination, being both safe and interesting.
In flood conditions, however, rafting might become more challenging.
To make your trip more comprehensive, it
is complemented with motor boat trip along Round Baikal Railway
which is another highlight of the Lake Baikal. This railroad is
a masterpiece of road construction — built in the end of 19 century,
it cost more than any other Russian railway and became one of
the most famous railroad constructions. 90 km of it contains 38
tunnels, numerous galleries, bridges and viaducts. Sighseeing
in Irkutsk adds yet another dimension to the trip.
