"The Fire Ring"

Avachinsky, Mutnovsky and Gorely volcanoes

This short adventure program offers to climb three different volcanoes around Petropavlovsk. The climb to Gorely is rather a rambling walk for 3 hours, which gives a spectacular view to the two crater's acid lakes. The next visit inside the Mutnovskiy crater is an experience of a life being because of its geysers. And at last the ascent to the just about perfect conical Avacha is a chance to see the Pacific coast and the other countless volcanic ranges of Kamchatka.

Itinerary:
  • Day 1. Arrival to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Transfer to hotel "Petropavlovsk". Check-in. After lunch coach sightseeing tour around the city and the harbour (3 hours). Visit of the local fish market. Welcome dinner. Overnight in hotel "Petropavlovsk".
  • Day 2. Off-road drive to Mutnovsky base camp - 5 hours. Accommodation in tents. Packed lunch on the way and dinner at the BC.
