Nalychevo valley route

    Land cost:  $1130 per person in a group of 6 members.

    Price includes: all overland transfers, 2 nights in hotel "Petropavlovsk" (room share), 9 nights in tents, service of local guides on the trek, porters and kitchen crew, all the meals when not in the city and breakfasts in P.-K.,  camping stuff, liason officer, national park fee.

    Domestic flight (if any) airfare, Russian visa, over luggage extra charge if any, personal expenses, tips and medical insurance are not included.

Trekking to the Nalychevo Valley


A popular trekking program in the National Park Nalychevo, which is included in the UNESCO world-wide cultural and natural heritage. Beautiful mountain landscape surrounded by volcanic cones of Avacha, Koryak and Dzendzur volcanoes, unusual geothermal microclimate flora species and of course a lot of geysers. List of birds inhabitating the valley numbers nearly 145 species (including 90 nest birds). Rare species of char salmon and Kamchatka mikizha can be seen in the rivers on the trek.


      Itinerary:

  • Day 1. Arrival to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Transfer to hotel "Petropavlovsk". Check-in. Coached city sightseeing tour (3 hours) - the harbour, local fish market, the museum of regional studies. Meeting the trekking crew.
  • Day 2. Departure for Pinachevo village (offroad vehicle, 1,5-hours driving). Trek over Pinachevo pass - 3-4 hours. Overnight in tents.
  • Day 3. Trek to the Camp Perevalny  (1160 m) - 4 hours. The trek goes through alpine meadows reaching the source of the Pinachevo river. Overnight in tents.
  • Day 4. There will be two mountain passes on this day - Sedlo (the Saddle) and Bezymyanny (the Nameless) - 4 hours. From its top we will see the dome of extinct volcano Kupol and the river Kekhkuy down the valley. Late the trail leads to the Vorony Lakes. From here 40 minutes trek bring us to the Nalychevo hot Springs, where we set our base camp. Overnight  in tents. Visit to Nalychevo Hot Springs. Swimming in the hot springs.
  • Day 5. Excursion to the Nalychevo museum. Trekking to the Talovskie Hot Springs (9 km, about 3-hours trekking). Return to the BC. Overnight in tents.
  • Day 6. Trekking to the foothills of Dzenzur volcano (19 km - 5 hours). Overnight in tents near Dzenzur.
  • Day 7.  Ascending Dzenzur volcano (8 hours). Inspection  of lava flows and fumarolas. Return to the camp.
  • Day 8. Return back  to the Nalychevo valley. Accommodation in tents near the hot springs.
  • Day 9. Trek to the foothills of Koryak volcano (5 hours). Accommodation in tents at hot springs.
  • Day 10. Trek over Avacha pass (1230 m). Overnight in tents at the Avacha BC.
  • Day 11. Early morning climb to Avachinsky volcano (2741 m) - 8-9 hours. Lunch at the crater of volcano. Departure to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Accommodation in hotel. Farewell dinner.
  • Day 12. Transfer to the airport. Departure.
